A LOOK BACK - As we begin a new year, we can look back and count our blessings.
Our party achieved so much in the past year - conducted 2 county caucuses, a
county convention, a Lincoln Day Dinner, and hosted the State Convention at the
TRAC as well as having 2 members at the National Convention. We were part of
several successful election campaigns, providing moral, leadership and financial
support. Republicans are now well-represented at the local, state and national
levels and the numbers are growing. We elected four new officers, adopted a new
set of By-laws, and held a Christmas Party.

I. A LOOK BACK

As we begin a new year, we can look back and count our blessings.

II. GRATITUDE

We thank the outgoing and appointed officers for a job well-done,
and congratulate the new incoming officers. We thank our public officials at every
level, as well as our law enforcement and military personnel.

III. THE PATH FORWARD

We now enter a phase during which elections are over and the work begins to
sustain and even improve upon our previous performance. This challenge is the
hardest of all – staying on top after the summit is reached. But maybe there are
new summits to climb, just as there are always new horizons. One of our summits
will be to increase voter participation as well as party involvement. The party
system is still strong in America, although diminished from the past. The party still
represents the best way to become involved in the political process and the best
vehicle for running for office. Many of the Founding Fathers were against political
parties, but they have been a reality since the beginning, so take advantage of the
opportunity. The Executive Committee will meet in January to draw up a Plan of
Action for 2017.
